Some of the activities that we participate in include:
Book Club: The book club meets once a month (usually in the eventing). We pick a book to read and all meet up to discuss our thoughts on the book.
Moms Night Out: Once a month we meet for dinner, a movie, bowling, pottery decorating, dessert, etc. so moms can socialize without the kids (although children rarely accompany mothers to MOMS Night Out, it is not forbidden). Monthly Meetings: We have a business meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. We discuss expenditures, plan parties and other activities, invite speakers, or just have discussion groups. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting. Our meeting location includes a play area for the kids.
Newsletter: We publish a newsletter via email once per month. It includes facts about our group, upcoming activities, interesting info about our members, recommendations of products and websites from our members, recipes, and a dvertisements. If you are a local business and would like to advertise in our monthly newsletter, please check out the FAQs for pricing.
Park Play Dates: During warmer weather months, we meet at a local park to let the kids play while we socialize and meet potential new members.
Playgroups: Playgroups consist of 4-8 moms and are set up according to the age of the children. Play groups schedule their meeting time according to when everyone in their group is available. Playgroups usually meet once or twice per month.
Service Projects: Each year we do a service project to benefit local Moms and children in our area. In the past we have held a consignment sale and the proceeds were donated to Providence House Battered Women’s Shelter, donated slightly used books to Bookends, and donated unopened diapers, bottles and wipes to the Family Service of Burlington County’s Baby Bundle Drive.
Sunshine / Helping Hands: One of the ways we provide support to our Moms is helping during times of upheaval or stress. If you are ill, have had a death in the family, recently welcomed a new baby, etc. our Moms will bring you meals, help babysit your children, shop for you, or just call to cheer you up.
Scrap Booking Club: Once a month (usually in the evening) we get together to scrap book and socialize. Walking Club: The walking club meets once per week at a local park, neighborhood, or mall to get a little bit of exercise and to socialize. |
